You break. Aim at the 1-ball, then Shoot.
You versus the computer: You break. The computer thinks and aims before taking its turn, using the same physics and rules. The first legal pocket assigns solids or stripes. Pocket your own ball legally to continue; otherwise pass the turn. Hit your group first, then pocket a ball or reach a cushion. Once your group is gone, hit and pocket the 8 to win. An early 8 or a foul while sinking the 8 loses. No called pockets.
Break: hit the 1-ball first and pocket a ball or send four object balls to cushions. An 8 on the break re-racks for the same breaker. Any other foul gives the opponent ball in hand anywhere. A scratch is a foul.
Mouse / touch: tap to aim, then Shoot. Or drag backward and release. After a foul, tap a clear spot to place the cue ball, then aim.
Keyboard: focus table; ← / → aim (Shift for fine aim), ↑ / ↓ power, Space shoots. Enter places ball in hand at a clear starting spot. P pauses. R starts a new match. Sound begins with your first interaction; mute anytime.
